Director Evangelion: 3.0 1.0 published a handwritten letter of apology
The famous anime director Anno Hideaki published an open letter with a handwritten text in which he apologized to fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion for moving the premiere of Evangelion: 3.0 1.0. The publication was posted on the Twitter page of the animator Studio Khara. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to all those affected by the COVID-19 infection. And I would also like to express my gratitude and respect for medical workers and medical staff, Hideaki wrote in the letter. The director also asked fans for forgiveness that he had already made them wait eight years to appear on the screens of the new Evangelion film, and that they would have to wait because of the unprecedented situation. Japanese cinemas were to begin showing the animated film Evangelion: 3.0 1.0 on June 27, 2020. On April 17, 2020, the official Twitter page of the project reported that the premiere of the film had been postponed indefinitely.
