Trump called NATO defense spending 2% of GDP insufficient
US President Donald Trump considers NATO defense spending in the amount of 2% of GDP insufficient. He stated this on June 24 during a press conference in the White House with Polish President Andrzej Duda. According to Trump, Poland, which spends 2% of GDP on defense, is one of eight NATO countries that have done a good job in the context of spending within the alliance, but 2% is too small a figure. I spoke to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenbergh, and he said we did a good job. I said that was not enough, Trump said. According to him, the United States will be satisfied only if all NATO countries begin to pay a fair share. According to the news agency, the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) of Poland, Pavel Soloch, said that the Polish government is not in any negotiations regarding the deployment of American nuclear weapons and this issue will not be considered during the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to Washington.
