Chinese authorities stop freight transport through border crossings in Primorye
Cargo transport will be temporarily stopped by the Chinese authorities through the Russian-Chinese border through the border crossings in the Maritime Territory. This was reported on April 5 by the press service of the Russian General Council in Harbin. The Russian Diplomatic Representative states that the Chinese authorities have decided to temporarily suspend all freight traffic through the Russian-Chinese border crossings Border Suifenhe, Poltava Dunnin and Turi Rog Mishan. The decision will enter into force on April 6 at 13:00 Beijing time (08:00 Moscow time). The Chinese side will inform additionally about the time frame for the restoration of the work of the crossing points. The Chinese authorities argue that this decision is not currently able to centrally verify and quarantine the increased cargo and passenger flow through these checkpoints. We remind that at present China has introduced strict quarantine requirements for all citizens, as well as foreigners coming from abroad. Administrative and criminal penalties are threatened for violation of established requirements.
