Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany invited Schroeder to make a bet on Crimea
Crimea will return to Ukraine during the life of former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andrei Melnik said, suggesting a policy to make a bet. This was reported on May 3 by the news agency Ukrinform. Melnik called Schroeder a lobbyist for militaristic Moscow, which fails to achieve the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions by the European Union due to the strong solidarity of the Federal Government of Germany and the entire German society in its indestructible support for Ukraine. I would like to announce to this 76-year-old ex-politician and top lobbyist of the Kremlin a kind of bet: even in his life Crimea will certainly return to the side of Mother Ukraine. This is as obvious as the fact that the sun is rising in the East and setting in the West, Melnick said. We remind that earlier the former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder gave an interview Tagesspiegel, in which he called for the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions, and also stressed that no Russian president will return Crimea to Ukraine. According to the news agency, Crimea joined Russia in 2014 following a referendum. The reason for the referendum was the armed coup d 'état in Kiev, which destroyed legitimate power in Ukraine.
