A group of Serbian intellectuals sued Vucic over Kosovo

On August 25, a group of Serbian intellectuals and public figures in Belgrade sued President Alexander Vucic because of the threat his actions pose to the constitutional order and territorial integrity of Serbia. The complainants emphasize that Vucic advocates a distinction between the southern Serbian territory of Kosovo and Metozia and the central part of the state, which directly contradicts the country's basic law. They require the competent authorities to urgently review the claim and investigate it accordingly. We draw attention to the fact that Alexander Vucic, holding the post of head of state, proposed his own personal idea, formulated on the basis of a private platform allegedly to resolve the Kosovo issue through unconstitutional delineation and exchange of territories, in the form of a private transaction to the illegal authorities in Pristina and Hashima Thachi (leader of the Kosovo separatists news agency), thus abusing his own power, reports portal Srbininff Among the applicants are academician of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, professor of legal sciences Costa Chavoshki, professor of the philological faculty of the University in Belgrade Milo Lompar, professor of the University in Kosovo Mitrovica Dejan Mirovich, former member of the Serbian parliament Marko Jakšić, opposition politician Dragana Trifković. Recall that earlier Serbian President Alexander Vucic initiated an internal dialogue about Kosovo and Metohija. The initiative, which was conceived as a broad public discussion of the solutions to the Kosovo issue, did not involve all sectors of society. As a result, Vucic made a thesis that Serbs and Albanians need to agree on the demarcation of the region. Later, separatist Kosovo President Hashim Thaci announced that Pristina could only agree to a border correction, which implies the accession of the three municipalities of central Serbia of Preševo, Medvedža and Bujanovac to Kosovo.
